Workshop on Training Management for Cambodia Customs

 From 27 November to 1 December 2023, the Workshop on Training Management for Cambodia Customs was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to further effective human resource development, seven Cambodia Customs officials deepened their understanding on the organizational management and practices of human resource development thorough the lectures and discussions.

The 21st Meeting of Heads of WCO Asia/Pacific Regional Training Centre

 From 14 to 16 November, the 21st Meeting of Heads of WCO Asia/Pacific Regional Training Centre was held in Japan for the first time in 11 years.
 The representatives from WCO Secretariat, Asia/Pacific Regional Office for Capacity Building (ROCB A/P), Asia/Pacific Regional Intelligence Liaison Office (RILO A/P) and Asia/Pacific Vice-Chair Office and the heads of the RTCs* in the region participated in the meeting.
 For nurturing the next generation and more effective training leveraging the recent technologies, participants made presentations and exchanged opinions on the effective use of online and other methods. On the last day of the meeting, Japan Customs arranged site visit tours to the Kawasaki Overseas Mail Sub-branch Customs and the headquarters of Yokohama Customs.
*Regional Training Centre: The RTCs host Workshop for WCO member Administrations. There are 10 RTCs in Asia/Pacific Regional (China, Fiji, Hong Kong China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand)..

The Specialized Training Course on Customs Human Resource Development for ASEAN

 From 13 to 17 November, the Workshop on Specialized Training Course on Customs Human Resource Development for ASEAN was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to further effective human resource development, 19 Customs officials from the ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN member states deepened their understanding on practices of Japan Customs and discussed possible ways forward to address the challenges of ASEAN and respective Customs administrations.

The WCO 87th Fellowship Programme

 From 23 October to 2 November 2023, under the WCO 87th Fellowship Programme, Japan Customs welcomed four French-speaking officers from Customs authorities of Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Mauritania and Moldova respectively to the study visit to Japan.
 Aiming to the modernization of each Customs administration, the participants deepened their understanding on practices of Japan Customs and discussed possible way forward to address the challenges of respective Customs administrations.

Workshop on Harmonized System for Bangladesh Customs

 From 26 October to 1 November 2023, the Workshop on Harmonized System for Bangladesh Customs was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 The participants deepened their understanding of Harmonized System through lectures and case studies by Japan Customs. In addition, they monitored the progress of the action plan prepared in the previous workshop and reviewed it based on the current situation.

Workshop on Customs Administration (French Course)

 From 27 September to 19 October 2023, the Workshop on Customs Administration (French Course) was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to the modernization of each Customs administration, eight participants from Customs authorities of Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Djibouti, Gabonese, Guinea and Senegal attended the Workshop to deepen their understanding on practices of Japan Customs through lectures and observation, and then developed their action plans to address the challenges of respective Customs administrations.

Workshop on Customs Administration (English Course)

 From 19 September to 13 October 2023, the Workshop on Customs Administration (English Course) was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to the modernization of each Customs administration, 18 participants from Customs authorities of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Mauritania, Moldova, Namibia, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Palau, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Tonga, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe attended the Workshop to deepen their understanding on practices of Japan Customs through lectures and observation, and then developed their action plans to address the challenges of respective Customs administrations.
