Virtual Workshop on Customs Administration for ASEAN member states

 From 20 to 22 February 2023, the Virtual Workshop on Customs Administration for ASEAN member states was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to further improve procedures and operational practices on Rules of Origin under Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement, a series of workshops will be conducted over a three-year period. As the first event, eight Customs officials from ASEAN member states attended the Workshop to deepen their understanding on Rules of Origin and discuss the way forward.

Workshop on Risk Management for the Philippines Customs

 From 23 to 27 January 2023, the Workshop on Risk Management for the Philippines Customs was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to further effective Customs control, 16 Philippines Customs officials deepened their understanding on the approaches and practices of Risk Management thorough the lectures by Japan Customs and the observation of Japan Customs’ operations.

Virtual Workshop on Customs Valuation for Democratic Republic of the Congo

 From 23 to 26 January 2023, the Virtual Workshop on Customs Valuation for Democratic Republic of the Congo was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to strengthen necessary competencies for appropriate tax collection and address relevant challenges of Democratic Republic of the Congo, 20 Democratic Republic of the Congo Customs officials deepened their understanding on Customs Valuation and Post Clearance Audit thorough the lectures and discussion in the workshop.

The WCO 81・84th Fellowship Programme

 From 5 to 16 December 2022, under the WCO 81・84th Fellowship Programme, Japan Customs welcomed four Spanish-speaking officers from Customs authorities of Brazil, Cuba, Mexico and Morocco respectively to the study visit to Japan.
 Aiming to the modernization of each Customs administration, the participants deepened their understanding on practices of Japan Customs and discussed possible way forward to address the challenges of respective Customs administrations.

Workshop on Customs Modernization for the Philippines Customs

 From 6 to 8 December 2022, the Workshop on Customs Modernization for the Philippines Customs was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation. Aiming to the modernization of Philippines Customs, eight Philippines Customs officials deepened their understanding on the organizational management and practices of human resource development thorough the lectures and discussions in person at Customs Training Institute Head office as well as the discussion online with branch offices of Customs Training Institute.

The WCO 83rd Fellowship Programme

 From 17 to 28 October 2022, under the WCO 83rd Fellowship Programme, Japan Customs welcomed four French-speaking officers from Customs authorities of Algeria, Comoros, Mali and Togo respectively to the study visit to Japan. Aiming to the modernization of each Customs administration, the participants deepened their understanding on practices of Japan Customs and discussed possible way forward to address the challenges of respective Customs administrations.

Workshop on Authorized Economic Operator for Cambodia Customs

 From 17 to 21 October 2022, Workshop on Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) for Cambodia Customs was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation. Aiming to ensure the efficient operations of AEO system, eight Cambodia Customs officials enhanced their knowledge on AEO system thorough the lectures by Japan Customs and the observation of Authorized Importers/Exporters’ premises.

 From 9 to 12 May 2022, the Workshop on Training Management for Uganda Customs was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to enhance the capacity of human resource development in Uganda Customs, the participants of Uganda Customs deepened their understanding on the practices of Japan Customs regarding training management thorough the lectures by Customs Training Institute and discussed possible future steps.

 From 11 to 14 April 2022, the Virtual Workshop on Customs Valuation for Côte d'Ivoire Customs was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to ensure appropriate tax collection and solve relevant challenges of Côte d'Ivoire, five Côte d'Ivoire Customs officials enhanced their knowledge on Customs Valuation and Post Clearance Audit thorough the lectures by Japan Customs.

 From 28 to 31 March 2022, the Virtual Workshop on Risk Management and Enforcement for the Philippines Customs was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to solve the challenges of the Philippines, 45 Philippines Customs officials deepened their understanding on the Risk Management and Customs Enforcement thorough the lectures by Japan Customs.

 From 24 to 28 February 2022, the Virtual Workshop on Customs Enforcement and Customs Area for Viet Nam Customs was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to enhance the efficient operations in Viet Nam Customs, 32 Viet Nam Customs officials deepened their understanding on the operation of Customs Enforcement and Customs Area thorough the lectures by Osaka Customs..

Virtual Workshop on Customs Administration for the Central Asian and the Caucasus countries

 From 31 January to 10 February 2022, the Virtual Workshop on Customs Administration for the Central Asian and the Caucasus countries was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to the modernization of each Customs, five Customs officials from Kazakhstan and Tajikistan attended the Workshop to understand the various practices of Japan Customs and developed their action plans to address the challenges of respective Customs administrations.

 From 11 to 20 January 2022, the Virtual Workshop on Customs Administration for African countries was held under the activities of Customs technical cooperation.
 Aiming to the modernization of each Customs, 10 Customs officials from Algeria, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea, Senegal and Tunisia attended the Workshop to understand the various practices of Japan Customs and developed their action plans to address the challenges of respective Customs administrations.
