Ａ Since this service is managed and operated by Japan Post, not by Customs, Customs is unable to provide answers regarding delivery status or other details. However, if the message “Held by import Customs” is displayed, it can be assumed that Japan Post is processing or sorting the arrival of the parcel or that it is currently under customs clearance.

In addition, if the message of “Notice sent by Customs” is displayed, Customs will send a simple registered mail titled “Notice of Customs Clearance Procedure for Postal Matters from Abroad”. During the customs clearance process, if the value of the contents is unknown or if confirmation of other relevant laws and regulations is required, an inquiry must be made to the recipient(importer).
