24. Import Trade Control Order

Among the arriving mail, there is an item that may require Import Approval, Import Quotas, etc. as stipulated in the Import Trade Control Order. In order to import these goods, it is necessary to confirm the Import Approval at Customs at the time of importation.

If you already have the Import Approval or the Import Quota Certificate, please bring or mail the original to Tokyo Overseas Mail Sub-branch Customs.

When sending by mail, please be sure to enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.

If you do not have an Import Approval or an Import Quota, please confirm whether or not you need to follow the procedures from the contact information below. (List of Cargo Subject to Import Approval from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry website)

After completing the procedures, please submit the original Import Approval or the Import Quota issued to Tokyo Overseas Mail Sub-branch Customs in person or by mail. When sending by mail, please be sure to enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.

If you have received a response that no procedures are required, please inform Tokyo Overseas Mail Sub-branch Customs of the reason why no procedures are required and the name of the department and the name of the person in charge at the ministry or agency where the confirmation was made.
