6. False or Deceptive Indication of origin

There are goods that have a false or deceptive indication of the origin in arriving mail.
Please confirm with the sender the country of origin of the goods and inform Tokyo Overseas Mail Sub-branch Customs of the result. (Customs may ask you to submit the document that proves the country of origin if necessary.)

The goods with a false or deceptive indications of the origin cannot be imported into Japan unless such indications are removed or corrected.
Also, removing and correcting the indication must be done by the addressee themselves at Tokyo Overseas Mail Sub-branch Customs.

Please note that mail containing goods with false or deceptive indications of the origin are not allowed to be returned to the sending country.
