1. Price Confirmation
Because of the following reasons, clearance procedure for your parcels has not been completed.
- The price documents such as invoices are not attached.
- The price is not stated on the Customs Declaration Form.
- The information on the Customs Declaration Form was different from actual items.
To proceed the clearance procedure, please submit the following documents (copies or screenshots of pages are acceptable) that prove the price of goods to Tokyo Overseas Mail Sub-branch Customs.
- A) When importing goods for sale, marketing, joint purchase, or Internet sales
≫Invoice made by exporter(sender).
(The invoice must include the price breakdown, materials, Incoterms, and currency unit for each item.)
≫If the purchase was made on an Internet sales site, a purchase history that includes the purchaser’s name, item details, quantity, price, and postage is required.
≫If there is no invoice or purchase history, an order sheet, a delivery statement, a remittance document or a closing financial document is also acceptable as a price confirmation document.
≫Postage or Insurance receipts that have been paid separately from goods. (Parcel tracking number must be listed on it.)
- B) When importing goods for personal use by the addressee themselves
≫Invoice made by exporter(sender). (The invoice must include the price breakdown, material, Incoterms, and currency unit for each item.)
≫If the purchase was made on an Internet sales site, a purchase history that includes the purchaser’s name, item details, quantity, and price is required.
≫If the purchase was made on an Internet sales site, documents or something including the purchaser’s name, exchanged massages and remittance/settlement are required.
Additionally, even if the goods were sent as a gift, they are subject to duty and tax.
Please ask the sender to confirm the price of goods and submit a copy of receipt to Customs, if any.
If the price is unknown, the amount of tax is calculated based on the sales price of the same or similar goods.
