For those who received a “Notice of Customs Clearance Procedure for Postal Matters from Abroad”

As the mail addressed to you cannot be processed for customs clearance, it is being held at the Japan Post branch indicated in the “Notice of Customs Clearance Procedure for Postal Matters from Abroad”. The name of the branch is on “Notice of Customs Clearance Procedure for Postal Matters from Abroad” (Hereinafter referred to as the “Notice”).

In order to complete all clearance procedures, it is necessary to answer the inquiries from Customs that are written in “連絡(RENRAKU)事項欄(JIKOURAN)” on the right side of the “Notice”.

When you send documents, please make sure to complete the following:

Call the customs office in advance.
Write the following information on your fax
“通知番号（notification number on the “Notice”）”, recipient’s name, phone number and name of a customs officer in charge.
  • By Mail
Enclose a note including the “通知番号（notification number on the “Notice”）”, recipient’s name, and phone number.
