Pharmaceutical Affairs Law for Animals

The postal matter addressed to you is temporarily being held at Japan Post Co.,Ltd. Tokyo International Branch because it contains an item of which import is the subject for the control under the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law. Please notify Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (03-3502-8111ex.3164) of the postal item (e.g. the composition, quantity etc.), and then submit a certificate of application for a permit and approval. If you do not know about the contents of your postal items, please come to Tokyo Branch Customs for Overseas Mail and confirm the contents.

If you require permission for the import and sale

 

 

Ø        If you already have permission

 

   Please fill in the returnable post card (located at the bottom of the arrival notice) with your name, address and telephone number (where you can be reached between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays), and mail it with the necessary documents,such as

   “Yunyuu-hanbai-gyou-kyoka-shou” (輸入販売業許可証):Permit for Import and Sales of Animal Pharmaceuticals(original or photocopy) ,enclosed.

 

If you cannot get permission for the import and sale

 

You cannot import the postal items without permission. Therefore, you are required to choose from the following.

 

Ø        If you wish to send your parcels back to the sender

 

In this case, you have to return all the contents of your parcel. You cannot divide the package into two; what is allowed be brought in and the other that is not.  Please fill in and mail the returnable post card (located at the bottom of the arrival notice) with your name, address, and telephone number and write clearly that you want to send it back. 

 

Ø        If you abandon the items you cannot get permission for

 

You can divide the package into two; what is allowed be brought in and the other that is not.  In this case, you fill in and mail the returnable part of the post card (located at the bottom of the arrival notice) with your name, address and telephone number (where you can be reached between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays) and write clearly that you are voluntarily abandoning the goods.  After receiving your postcard, Customs will send you a Declaration for Abandonment of Articles.  Please fill in the declaration and return it to Customs. Then the rest of the items will be cleared.

 

If you do not require permission documents

 

Please fill in and mail the returnable post card (located at the bottom of the arrival notice) with your name, address and telephone number (where you can be reached between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays) and write clearly that you do not require any permission document.  Also, write the name of the officer of Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries whom you contacted.
