Certificate of Origin

The postal matter addressed to you is temporarily being held at Japan Post Co.,Ltd. Tokyo International Branch.

Your parcel was dispatched from a developing country and if you have a Certificate of Origin (hereafter Form-A) of the products, your item may be given a preferential rate of duty.  If you do not, a relevant rate of duty is applied to it.  Therefore, to determine the appropriate rate of duty, it is necessary for Customs to check whether you have the Form-A concerned or not.  Please inform Customs as following:

If you have a Form-A:

Please submit the returnable post card (located at the bottom of the arrival notice) with your name, address, and telephone number (where you can be reached between the hours of 9am to 5pm on weekdays) with the Form-A enclosed.  And the preferential rate of duty may be applied.

If the goods had been manufactured from materials exported from Japan, please submit Customs Form P-8220 (“CERTIFICATE OF MATERIALS IMPORTED FROM JAPAN WHICH WERE USED FOR MANUFACTURE OF THE GOODS DESCRIBED IN CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN (Ref. No.     )”, which is the annex to the Certificate of Origin) as well.

If you do not have the Form-A:

Please fill in and mail the returnable post card (located at the bottom of the arrival notice) with your name, address, and telephone number (where you can be reached between the hours of 9am to 5pm on weekdays) and write clearly that you do not have the Form-A.  And the appropriate rate of duty will be applied.
