- Person, who has the permit of a customs warehouse, and intends to apply for a renewal of the permission period

- Submit your application as early as possible considering the expiration of the permission period of the customs warehouse.
[ Method of submission]
- Prepare an application and documents to be attached and submit them to the following administrative agency.

- There is no fee for application. (Refer to [Remarks].)

Submit each one of the following documents (two copies when applying via a customs branch).

1.  A juridical person applicant is required to submit a copy of the business report for the latest business year while an individual applicant is required to submit a copy of the tax certificate or a document that certifies the asset condition of the applicant.
2.  A table of prospective goods to handle in the customs warehouse concerned and a table of performances of goods handled
3.  A copy of a commission agreement when the applicant has concluded one with others to handle part of its freight control
4.  A copy of the lease agreement when the applicant rents the premises for an intended customs warehouse
Documents whose contents are confirmed as the same with those of the documents to be attached submitted before for a permit may be omitted.

- Application for Renewal of Customs Warehouse and Manufacturing Permission Periods (Customs Form C No. 3140): One copy (Two copies when applying via a customs branch)

- Submit your application to a hozei section official of the customs office having jurisdiction over the area where the said customs warehouse is located.

That the applicant is required not to fall into any of the following three cases of disqualification.

1.  An applicant who is considered unable to bear burdens to be imposed according to provisions of the Customs Law because of the poor resources of the applicant, or who is considered incapable of performing the operation of a customs warehouse.
2.  That the location or the facility of the customs warehouse that the applicant intends to renew a permit is admitted as inappropriate for a customs warehouse
3.  That the location of the customs warehouse that the applicant intends to renew a permit for is admitted as poor in prospects or use for the facility

[ Administrative appeal]
- Any person may file a protest with the Director-General of Customs within two months from the day following the date of acknowledgement of a disposition related to a customs declaration in case he or she is not satisfied with that disposition.
[ Remarks]
- After obtaining a permit, the applicant is required to pay monthly charges (ten categories from 20,400 yen to 165,100 yen) for the customs warehouse permit according to the warehouse area permitted.
- The applicant may renew the validity of the permit concerned for up to six years.
