- Submit your application before storing goods in a non-customs areas.

- Prepare an application and documents to be attached and submit them to the following administrative agency.

- No fee is required for application.

- Sketch of map if your application for permit of place for storage has no sketch of a place for storage on the rear side: Two copies

- Submit your application to a hozei section official of the customs office having jurisdiction over the area where the applicant intends to store foreign goods.

- Office hours of customs (8:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. except on holidays for the administrative agencies)

[ Submission standard]
- That it is difficult or markedly inappropriate to store goods in one of the following customs areass.
(1)  Bulky heavy goods that the customs areas has no facility to store
(2)  A large quantity of goods that are difficult to store in a customs areas
(3)  Goods that are disembarked (unloaded) in or to be embarked from a place whose traffic to customs areass is markedly inconvenient
(4)  Goods that are rotten and denatured, or which may stain other goods
(5)  Goods that require a special facility in a customs areas, such as valuable items, hazardous material, or fresh foods, or goods that require a special facility or storage but the customs areas is not available
(6)  Goods that the Director-General of Customs admits to store in a non-customs areas after considering natures of other goods and the location of the customs areas

- Any person may file a protest with the Director-General of Customs within two months from the day following the date of acknowledgement of a disposition related to a customs declaration in case he or she is not satisfied with that disposition.
