- The government holds a national examination every year to qualify and register customhouse specialists. This is a procedure required when an examinee intends to obtain a partial exemption of examination subjects of the qualifying examination for registered customs specialist.

- Prepare the following application, together with documents to be attached, and submit them to the customs office having jurisdiction over the area where you will take an examination.

- Documents evidencing that the said examinee is qualified to obtain a partial exemption of examination subjects (for example, a letter of certificate from the customhouse broker that the said examinee has been engaged or is engaged in customs brokerage)

- That an examinee must have been engaged in customs brokerage for customhouse brokers or clerical work of customs and customs clearance at public offices (excluding routine clerical work that requires no particular decisions on customs brokerage for customhouse brokers, or customs clearance or clerical work at customs, and clerical work involving their supervision) for 15 years or longer in total,

- That an examinee must have been engaged in customs brokerage for customhouse brokers or clerical work of customs clearance at public offices (excluding routine clerical work that requires no particular decisions on customs brokerage for customhouse brokers or customs clearance of goods at the customs (including clerical work involving their supervision)) for five years or longer in total
