Revision of the base year of Trade Indexes and update previous data (Updated)

On August 16, 2018 (press release of the trade statistics (July 2018 (Provisional)), the base year of Trade Indexes was revised from Year 2010 to Year 2015. Revision of the base year has been conducted every five years.
The revised data are now available on the web-site (search page etc.).
In connection with the revision, previous data of Trade Indexes has been updated based on the new base year.
The methods are as follows:
(1) Time series data (Yearly) of Trade Indexes
Revised data from 1960 is now available.
Data from 1960 to 2014 has been updated based on coefficients calculated by comparing indexes of the previous and the new base year sector by sector.
Data from 2015 has been re-computed based on indexes of the new base year as 100.
(2) Time series data (Monthly) of Trade Indexes
Revised data from January 1998 are now available.
Data from January 1998 to December 2014 has been updated based on coefficients calculated by comparing indexes of the previous and the new base year sector by sector.
Data from January 2015 has been re-computed based on indexes of the new base year as 100.
