 Japan Customs Jurisdiction

Regional Customs headquarters are located in Hakodate, Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka,Kobe, Moji, Nagasaki and Okinawa. There are four departments set in each of the headquarter’s offices. These are the Co-ordinate Dept., Enforcement Dept., Customs Clearance Dept. as well as combined Post Clearance Audit, Investigation and Intelligence Depts. Each of these headquarters has many local branch offices and customs guard posts.

Jurisdiction of Moji Customs

Moji Customs covers the following wide area as its jurisdiction: the prefectures of Yamaguchi, Oita, Miyazaki, Fukuoka and Saga (excluding the area along Ariake Bay), and the islands of Iki and Tsushima in Nagasaki. Jurisdiction of Moji Customs includes 19 open seaports for foreign trade and 4 international airports.
