- Procedure for returning accompanied personal effects retained by a customs for not obtaining necessary permission or approval required by laws and regulations other than the customs related laws

- A passenger or crew member whose accompanied personal effects is retained by customs

- The applicant is required to submit documents that certify the disappearance of the cause of the goods being retained within the four months from the date they were retained by customs
[ Method of submission]
- The applicant is required to submit a "Certificate of Retention of Accompanied Personal Effects," which was issued when the goods was retained by customs, and documents that certify the disappearance of the cause of the goods being retained (for example, an import permit, a promissory letter for reshipment, etc.) to the guard section of the customs office that retained the goods.

- The applicant is required to pay the expense for retaining the goods (for example, transportation expense, expenses for the special storage, etc.)

- The applicant is required to submit a Certificate of Retention of Accompanied Personal Effects (Customs Form C No. 6020) issued when the goods was retained by customs.

- Submit the application to the guard section of the customs office that retained the said accompanied personal effects.

- Office hours of customs (8:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. excluding holidays of the administrative agencies).

[ Submission standard]
- That the applicant has obtained a permit or approval required by a law other than the customs related laws and the cause of retention of goods has disappeared
- That reshipment is reliable due to a reason, that no permit or approval will be given.
- That the expense for the retention has been paid.

- A protest may be filed to the Director-General of Customs within the two months from one day after the date when the applicant learned of the disposition mentioned above.
