Outline of FY2015 Customs and Tariff Policy Amendment
As of April, 2015
1. Strengthening customs enforcement
Addition of designated drugs to the scope of “articles prohibited from importation” under the Customs Act
2. Extension of the effective periods of temporary tariff rates and measures, etc
(1)Extending the effective period of 431 temporary tariff rates, Special Safeguard clause for specific agricultural products and Safeguard Measures for beef and pork by the end of FY2015
(2)Expansion of the coverage of the tariff reduction and exemption system for skimmed milk
(2)Expansion of the coverage of the tariff reduction and exemption system for skimmed milk
3. Development of the environment for tax payment
Extending the period of inapplicable provision for additional tax for no return or return after due date from two weeks to one month
