4005 Elimination of Tariffs on Imported Goods under the Japan Mexico Economic Partnership Agreement (FAQ)
The Japan Mexico Economic Partnership Agreements sets out 14 patterns of tariff elimination or reduction, including immediate tariff elimination, gradual tariff elimination or reduction, introduction of tariff quota, etc. (Annex 1). One of the patterns shall be applied to each product. For five major agricultural products (pork, beef, chicken, orange juice, and oranges (fruit)), consultations on the EPA preferential tariff rate quota are scheduled when five years elapse from the time the Agreement enters into force.
