Completion of attachment training of the WCO/Japan Regional Customs Laboratories Programme 2018/2019
The Central Customs Laboratory (CCL), under the WCO / Japan Regional Customs Laboratories Programme2018/2019, accepted six Customs chemists from Guatemala, India, The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Mongolia, Uganda and Viet Nam from October 22 to November 30, 2018. During the period, CCL conducted highly concentrated training, aimed at improving specific Customs chemical analyses with utilizing analysis instrument in CCL, and learning laboratory management, based on a training plan considering requests from these chemists.

The Central Customs Laboratory (CCL) received fourteen participants (note) in JICA Customs Administration Course, as an international activity under the customs technical cooperation. The CCL welcomed them, and explained to them about its overview and the importance of Customs analysis, followed by demonstrations of analytical equipment and inspection equipment in the CCL laboratory building.

The Central Customs Laboratory (CCL) received three participants (note) in the WCO (World Customs Organization)76th Fellowship Programme, as an international activity under customs technical cooperation. The CCL welcomedthem, and explained CCL’s overview and the importance of Customs analysis to support further facilitating tradeprocedures, followed by demonstrations of analytical instruments and inspection equipment in the experimentbuilding.

- 2018.Sep.21 Visit of participants in the GRIPS WCO Scholarship Programme 2018 and International Training Programme for public officer to the CCL
The Central Customs Laboratory (CCL) received 11 participants (note) in the GRIPS WCO Scholarship Programme and International Training Programme for public officer as an international activity under customs technical cooperation. The CCL presented CCL’s overview and explained the importance of Customs analysis to support further facilitating trade procedures. In addition, The CCL provided demonstrations of analytical instruments and inspection equipment in the experiment building.

The Central Customs Laboratory (CCL) received 4 participants (note) in the WCO (World Customs Organization) 75th Fellowship Programme, as an international activity under customs technical cooperation. The CCL welcomed them, and explained CCL’s overview and the importance of Customs analysis for further facilitating trade procedure. The CCL also explained activities as the Regional Customs Laboratory (RCL) to support the WCO members in the region to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of Customs Laboratory analysis work with a view to enhancing trade within the region. The CCL provided demonstrations of analytical instruments and inspection equipment in the experiment building.

The Central Customs Laboratory (CCL) received 9 participants in the WCO (World Customs Organization) Career Development Programme (note), as an international activity under customs technical cooperation. The CCL welcomed them, and explained CCL’s overview and the importance of Customs analysis for further facilitating trade procedure. The CCL also explained activities as the Regional Customs Laboratory (RCL) to support the WCO members in the region to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of Customs Laboratory analysis work. The CCL provided demonstrations of analytical instruments and inspection equipment in the experiment building.
(note)This is one of the human resource development programmes implemented by WCO in cooperation with Japan. The countries of nine participants are as follows:

- 2018. Mar. 27 Visit of scholarship students in the WCO Strategic Management and Intellectual Property Rights Program (SMIPRP) to the CCL
The Central Customs Laboratory (CCL) received 10 scholarship students in the WCO (World Customs Organization) SMIPRP (note), as an international activity under customs technical cooperation. The CCL welcomed them, and explained CCL’s overview and the importance of Customs analysis for further facilitating trade procedure. The CCL also explained the contribution of the CCL toward IPR infringing goods and activities as the Regional Customs Laboratory (RCL) to support the WCO members in the region to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of Customs Laboratory analysis work. The CCL presented demonstrations of analytical instruments and inspection equipment in the laboratory building.
(note)This program is held in Aoyama Gakuin University for one year. The countries of ten students are as follows : Azerbaijan, Bhutan, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Maldives, Mauritius, Namibia, Rwanda and Tanzania.

The CCL welcomed them, and explained CCL’s overview, the importance of Customs analysis for further facilitating trade procedure and activities as the Regional Customs Laboratory (RCL) to support the WCO members in the region to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of Customs Laboratory analysis work, followed by demonstrations of analytical instruments and inspection equipment in the experiment building.

The Central Customs Laboratory (CCL) received ten participants in the Training Course on Training Management for Phillipines Customs, as an international activity under customs technical cooperation. The CCL welcomed them, and explained overview of Japan Customs Laboratories, the importance of Customs analysis to support further facilitating trade procedures, followed by demonstrations of an analytical instrument and inspection equipment in the experiment building.
